The kiss is a symbol that’s as playful as it is romantic. We see its presence everywhere. From Dan Colen’s artwork to Erin Fetherston’s current collection, a kiss will never go out of style. Now it’s your turn to touch someone’s heart with DIY art.

If you’re like us, you’ve got oodles of lipsticks lying around in a variety of fun shades. So why not use them to make a Valentine for someone you adore? They say love is in the air…so hang it on the wall for all to see!

To create: Apply lipstick to your lips. We used an assortment from our favorite brands: Chanel, Dior, Estée Lauder and Maybelline. Kiss a piece of paper over and over until the color fades. Reapply if necessary or use a different shade and create layers of multi-colored smooches for your loved one. Finish off by placing your personalized artwork in a frame. P.S.- get creative with a cluster of frames in varying sizes.

If  you love, love… then you will fall for our newest jams!

It’s the dead of winter and with single digit temps becoming the woeful norm, that same ol’ scarf might be becoming a bore. Fear and shiver not; we’ve got the purrrfect solution! Inspired by our favorite animal patterns and Kelly Wearstler’s unique playful Fido Fur Collar, this DIY accessory will have you prowling the streets feeling crazy cozy.

To create: Draw a collar template in the size and shape of your preference. Trace the template with a Sharpie on to the faux-fur fabric; cut out with scissors. Repeat to create two identical collar cut-outs. Glue the back of the two pieces together. Once dry, slice a small opening with scissors on both ends. Screw the spikes onto either ends of the chain. Attach to the collar by sliding the spikes through the slits.

Jam while you design your DIY’s and click here for our P.S.- I made this..Playlist: Volume 3, once again collaborating with our talented friends, The Jane Doze.

Graphic, colorful, and tasty as a gumball - if your eyes are peeled for trends in the art & fashion world, you’re probably seeing spots. The Row x Damien Hirst collaborated on a series of limited edition backpacks that fuse sweet n’ sassy colors with the edginess of black leather and gold. But their jaw-dropping retail price (55k!) begs the question…why pay the price of a work of art when you can create your own? This week’s DIY, with WhoWhatWear, stands for Dot-It-Yourself!

To create: Paint the surface of the brads with assorted nail polish colors and leave to dry. Slice small slits evenly across the front of the back pack with a swiss army knife. Insert the brads and bend to attach. P.S.- add a dab of glue to the backs of the brads to ensure they are fastened securely.

Get excited for another round of whistle-while-you-work jams! CLICK HERE for our P.S.-I Made This…Playlist: Volume 2, once again collaborating with our talented friends, The Jane Doze.

If you want to keep up with the latest in fashion, it’s all about staying sharp. Jewels with an edge are all the rage…and with a little imagination you can tear a page from the likes of Chanel, YSL and Noir Jewelry without breaking the bank. Take a stab at DIY by repurposing an everyday item into a fierce look to kill!

And speaking of cuts…the only thing that accompanies a day of DIY better than our beloved glue gun is a cool soundtrack- introducing the first P.S.- I made this… Playlist! We teamed up with the dope DJ Duo The Jane Doze to create a selection of tracks in the spirit of this week’s sharp & sexy project.

To create: Cut the end of the plastic knife off with sharp scissors. Angle the wider side to create a pointed tip. Pierce a hole using a needle. To make it easier, heat up the needle with a lighter before piercing. Link the earring wire to the pearl chain, then to the angled piece using jump rings.

In celebration of Marc Jacobs’ series of limited-edition accessories in collaboration with the release of Stephanie LaCava’s memoir, An Extraordinary Theory of Objects (P.S.- 100% of proceeds will be donated to Child Mind Institute), we have created a timeless piece of our own. If your New Year’s resolution was to be more creative and start making things, get on it - the clock’s ticking! Crave for curiosities, scour your local flea market, toy stores or jewelry boxes, and get on board with a DIY that supports the theory that time flies!

To create: Coat twelve plastic insects with silver spray paint. Once fully dried, adhere mounting tape to the back of each bug. Mount the clock dial in the desired place and stick each bug around at the correct hour. For extra precision, you may want to mark the hours with a pencil before mounting the bugs.

Whether you’re a Jackson Pollock aficionado or couldn’t get enough of Spin Art as a kid, there’s no denying the positive impact of colorful and energetic splatters of paint. Add an unexpected addition to your outfit with jewelry inspired by designer Tom Binns’ splatter-effect Spring 2013 collection. This artistic wow-factor will makes you want to celebrate and paint the town. So bring out your inner DIY expressionist and turn an old accessory into a fresh work of art!

To create: Select an assortment of paint colors. The more colors, the more layers you’ll have. To keep a tidy space, use newspaper or a drop cloth. Pour a dollop of paint onto a protective surface and dab a paint brush; flick onto a statement necklace, we opted for a chunky rhinestone version. Take your next color and repeat. Try different brushes for an array of speckled effects. Once finished, let completely dry before wearing.

If the idea of packing up the holiday decorations brings you great sorrow, imagine the joy of wearing them all winter long. 3.1 Phillip Lim takes standard wool pieces from ordinary to extraordinary with his gorgeous embellished sweaters. They inspired us to team up with our friends at Who What Wear to jazz up a knit that was bound for the thrift bin. Let your imagination (and your outfit) shine!

To create: Sew on glass beads with needle and thread to your sweater. Design unique geometric patterns by stitching on gold tube beads. Use less beads to create a simple look or pile them on to construct an intricate piece.
