It’s the dead of winter and with single digit temps becoming the woeful norm, that same ol’ scarf might be becoming a bore. Fear and shiver not; we’ve got the purrrfect solution! Inspired by our favorite animal patterns and Kelly Wearstler’s unique playful Fido Fur Collar, this DIY accessory will have you prowling the streets feeling crazy cozy.

To create: Draw a collar template in the size and shape of your preference. Trace the template with a Sharpie on to the faux-fur fabric; cut out with scissors. Repeat to create two identical collar cut-outs. Glue the back of the two pieces together. Once dry, slice a small opening with scissors on both ends. Screw the spikes onto either ends of the chain. Attach to the collar by sliding the spikes through the slits.

Jam while you design your DIY’s and click here for our P.S.- I made this..Playlist: Volume 3, once again collaborating with our talented friends, The Jane Doze.

Graphic, colorful, and tasty as a gumball - if your eyes are peeled for trends in the art & fashion world, you’re probably seeing spots. The Row x Damien Hirst collaborated on a series of limited edition backpacks that fuse sweet n’ sassy colors with the edginess of black leather and gold. But their jaw-dropping retail price (55k!) begs the question…why pay the price of a work of art when you can create your own? This week’s DIY, with WhoWhatWear, stands for Dot-It-Yourself!

To create: Paint the surface of the brads with assorted nail polish colors and leave to dry. Slice small slits evenly across the front of the back pack with a swiss army knife. Insert the brads and bend to attach. P.S.- add a dab of glue to the backs of the brads to ensure they are fastened securely.

Get excited for another round of whistle-while-you-work jams! CLICK HERE for our P.S.-I Made This…Playlist: Volume 2, once again collaborating with our talented friends, The Jane Doze.

To create: Using a marker, trace all sides of the plastic envelope to the backside of the self-adhesive film. Cut out each section with scissors. Carefully peel and stick the film to your envelope. If we’ve got one tip to offer up for your Fall accessory collection…make sure it ROCKS. Chanel had an all-out crystal ball with its Fall 2012 collection, as Karl Lagerfeld decked heels, cuffs, hems and even eyebrows with brilliant moonstones & rocky gems.  Fuse abstract amethyst, moody-hued quartz and shimmering fluorite to create a bold yet (literally) precious D.I.Y. hair accessory for a look that packs the power of Kryptonite both day and night.

To create:  Cut a rectangular piece of leather (or leather-like) fabric to the approximate size of your barrette. Glue the backside of the fabric piece to your barrette with extra-strength glue - we used E6000. To avoid excess glue and drips, use a craft stick. Finish by embellishing with an array of quartz and crystals. Let dry completely, then style for an instant eye-catcher.

The most covetable jewels of the moment combine equal parts sparkle, unexpected texture and vintage charm for a look that’s both classic and on-trend. We partnered with our friends at Michael’s to celebrate jewelry month, and two of our favorite things: vintage crystal bling and bright pops of neon! Get roped into this DIY and create an exciting accessory that delivers smiles from ear to ear.
To create:  Cut lanyard in two long pieces and fold in half. Wrap one piece around your finger twice. Take the second piece of lanyard and string it through the loop in a “over-under” pattern. Pull tightly to secure the box stitch. Repeat these steps until you’ve reached the desired length for your earring to dangle. Add the finding to the ends of the arch and finish off by attaching a jump ring and earring wire to the middle.
